St Catherine Fieschi Adorno

During her intense life (1447-1510) the Saint seems us unexpected relevant. She reproduces among lights and shadows the common experience of everybody’s life.

Santa Caterina

Daughter of the Genoese aristocracy, she raised her nobility to a supernatural level. She became humble and a capable orderly among the incurable patients of the hospital Pammatone. Such as neglected wife of the intemperate Giuliano Adorno, she could “take her revenge” as Christian wife: she nursed him with love care in his last years and helped him to rediscover Faith and Charity.

Santa Caterina

She is the mystic who gave the world the “Treatise about Purgatory”, and who roused, with her uncontainable love for God, the hearts of many apostles of charity, who consider her as their inspirer and guide.
Catherine was a passionate researcher of God in her multi-faceted tasks of wife, hospital orderly and spiritual guide. Her work is considered as a subterranean river which resurfaced to light during the Catholic Reformation, the real agitation which never ends in the heart of the Church even though it is among the mistakes of men.
